Follow the Android Publishing Cookbook to download the necessary tools and to set your computer/device up for adb installation before proceeding.
- Download the latest GameSalad Android Viewer from http://gamesalad.com/download/latest/android-viewer
- Connect your Android device to your computer via USB
- To verify the connection, run the following from terminal: “~/sdk/platform-tools/adb devices”. If you followed the optional step in the previous lesson, you can instead run “adb devices”
- In the terminal window, navigate to where you downloaded the GameSalad Android Viewer (Example: “cd ~/downloads”)
- Install GameSalad Viewer using adb by running the following from terminal: “~/sdk/platform-tools/adb install GSViewer.apk”
WARNING: Creator and Viewer version numbers must match for the two to work together!
Troubleshooting
If you receive this error message when installing Viewer on your Android device:
[INSTALL_FAILED_ALREADY_EXISTS]It means that there is already a version of Viewer installed on it. You need to uninstall the existing version prior to installing it again.
