1 – Getting Started with Android

This tutorial will walk through the process of downloading and installing the tools you need to publish to an Android device.

  1. Head here to download the Java SE Development Kit installer. The current JDK version is 8.

NOTE: Make sure you download the correct version (64-bit or 86-bit) based on your computer’s operating system

  1. Click on Accept License Agreement and then run the installer you just downloaded.

NOTE: If you may see a User Account Control Message asking “Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer?” – Click Yes to proceed

  1. Click “Next”.

  1. Just leave the default installation settings and click “Next”.

  1. Accept the default destination folder and click Next”.

  1. Click “Close after the JDK installation is completed.
  2. Grab the Android tools needed for signing from this Dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/x599fwo683c0vkz/android-sdk.zip?dl=0.
  3. Extract the downloaded “android-sdk.zip” file and move the extracted folder into a place you won’t lose it (i.e your Program Files folder).
